A New Era Of Talent

'We're All Young and Hungry': Michigan Wide Receivers Confident Heading into Game Week

A New Era of Talent

Michigan's wide receiver corps is brimming with young talent eager to make their mark in college football. Led by sophomore Andrel Anthony and junior Roman Wilson, this group of pass-catchers is ready to take the next step in their development.

Anthony, a former four-star recruit, emerged as a reliable target for quarterback J.J. McCarthy last season. He recorded 25 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns.

Wilson, a JUCO transfer, made an immediate impact in 2022 with 23 receptions for 321 yards and four scores.

Proven Depth

Behind Anthony and Wilson, Michigan has a wealth of depth at wide receiver. Sophomore Darrius Clemons and junior A.J. Henning provide experience, while true freshmen Jaren Mangham and Donovan Green bring speed and athleticism.

Clemons played in 13 games last year, recording 12 catches for 130 yards. Henning, a former five-star recruit, has the potential to be a breakout star this season.

Mangham and Green are both highly touted recruits who could make an immediate impact in the Wolverines' offense.

High Expectations

The Michigan wide receivers have high expectations for themselves this season. They believe they have the talent to be one of the best units in the country.

"We're all young and hungry," said Anthony. "We're ready to prove ourselves and show what we can do."

Wilson echoed Anthony's confidence, saying, "We have a lot of potential. We just need to stay focused and work hard, and we can be a special group."
