Almiron Injury Update: Paraguay Confirm Grade 1 Biceps Femoris Issue
Newcastle United Winger to Miss Six Weeks of Action
Miguel Almiron is set for a six-week absence after suffering a thigh injury in training. The Paraguay national team confirmed the injury as a Grade 1 biceps femoris muscle problem in Almiron's right thigh. The winger was forced to watch from the stands as Newcastle beat Manchester United, West Ham, and Brentford last week. Almiron has been a key player for Newcastle this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 16 Premier League appearances. His absence will be a blow to the Magpies, who are currently ninth in the table. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe said: "It's a frustrating one for Miguel and for us. He's been in such good form this season and he's a big player for us. We'll give him all the support he needs to get back fit as soon as possible." Almiron is likely to miss the rest of the season, including Newcastle's remaining Premier League games against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
